Gift Box Illustration for Purolator
Canadian courier Purolator invited thirteen illustrators from across Canada to design Christmas gift boxes. Each artist created an illustration inspired by the nature and culture of one province or territory.
I was honoured to represent New Brunswick, the province where I once lived. For my design, I painted fireworks above the famous Hopewell Rocks with a lighthouse nearby. New Brunswick is an Atlantic province known for its dramatic coastline and charming lighthouses, and I wanted to show both its beauty and the festive spirit of the holiday season.
Sketches
At first the sky was very dark. The client asked me to try a lighter version, so I adjusted the sketch. In the end we found the perfect balance. A slightly brighter night sky that still feels festive.
The final artwork is vibrant, celebratory and full of Christmas atmosphere, while also highlighting the unique landscape of New Brunswick.
